CHA will follow the lead of Chesapeake Public Schools in cancellations or delays due to weather.
In the event it becomes necessary to cancel classes due to an unforeseen emergency, teachers affected by the cancellation, will then contact individual students.
All class cancellations will be notified through Edmodo.
Teachers are encouraged to attend every class during a school year; however, illness and various extenuating circumstances do arise. In these situations, teachers are responsible for preparing lesson plans and acquiring a substitute who is compensated by the teacher. In the event a qualified substitute is unavailable, classes could be cancelled. In these rare situations, either monthly fees will be adjusted, or a make-up class will be scheduled.
